The sixteenth was the anniversary of the death of Ronnie James Dio. He was just 68 when he died from cancer back in 2010. His Rainbow bandmate Tony
Carey had a bad case but survived against considerable odds. The Last in Line is the second Dio album. I liked it better than the first one and I
liked the first one a lot. The first track was the opener for a lot of shows around then. The title track got pretty good airplay. Vivian Campbell on
guitar and Jimmy Bain on bass. Dio went through a lot of personnel I hadn't noticed but Wickedpedia sez that Jake E. Lee was with the band very briefly
before Campbell. The great Doug Aldrich later joined them for just a short time. Dokken bassist Jeff Pilson and joined them for a while as did Rudy Sarzo.
Ronnie sometimes explained in interviews that the 'devil horns' was actually something his Italian grandmother did being a habit from the old country and
was to ward off the evil eye. Nobody listened and now it's something all the metal guys and gals do. Reportedly he played the trumpet as a schoolboy
and attributed some of his singing ability to the breath control he learned. Lot of great live performances of the various iterations of the band.
Okey-dokey, what's on today? The
mayor's race in Parkin
is decided. Had a nice pic of the mayor nicely dressed and hairdo and all and holding up a paper
of some sort. She got 171 of 291 votes with the remainder being split between two candidates. Just lookin' at the pic if you didn't know it was Parkin
you might guess San Francisco or Boston or Chicago or....
I'm just guessing that
this body
isn't one of the other two recently found in bodies of water. The one that a cop made into a corpse and got someone to help him
heave it into the body of water and the other one. But that's just a guess. Reminded me of that scene in Sudden Impact
Harry: Where's Jannings?
Officer: Buckman Cove. A fisherman discovered a body there.
Harry: He personally checks up on every corpse?
Officer: No, sir. But this was clearly a murder. The victim
was shot twice. Once in the head, once in the genitals.
Probably the best of the Dirty Harry flicks. I don't know how much he had to do with the last one being so awful but I can see how he'd want to make sure they
never asked him to do another. Always thought a reboot with one of his boys - probably Scott - might do well but in the suicidal wokeness of the mainstream film
industry it would have to suck and would probably flop like a crappie dropped on the bottom of an aluminum boat on an Alabama lake in late July.

Dunno why
this was especially interesting. Maybe because they was
caught because of the FLOCK. At 18 Deangelo Deshawn was old enough to get his name in the news but didn't know that pretty much everybody is being watched
wherever they go outside a private residence. I assume that is the case even though I don't do crimes in public. Actually I don't do crimes anywhere except
thoughtcrime and they ain't figured out a way to catch me yet.
What, Chris?
Well, there is that but it can't be proven either.
The shameful behavior of Jonestown police doesn't ever seem to bite them but
others aren't as immune.
Thus far they seem to be
getting away with it
but we'll hafta wait to them to get around to the trial. Bet the city tries to delay some more and if they lose they'll appeal as far as they can go. Pretty disgusting
behavior and while 900K for killing someone seems pretty light a few million would be right for someone left a wheelchair-bound cripple for life.

Baer Creighton
is about as rough as it gets. So is about everything he runs into in his world. A hick moonshiner from North
Carolina. He and his brother don't get along and when the brother tries to kill him by sabotaging an electric appliance he
don't die but becomes able to tell when people are lying every time. He sees it it red, and the bigger the lie the redder the
red.
He becomes a reluctant avenging angel later on when the brother steals his dog and lets a dogfighting ring use it for a bait dog.
The brother and all the other bad guys die horrible deaths and Baer goes on the run from the law. Wherever he goes he ends up
running into some evildoers and has to give them justice, generally a horrible death. Or at least a death.
Pretty Like an Ugly Girl has some of the horriblest human behavor - human trafficking in children who get horrible things
done to them. Horrible things happen to the bad guys and gals - Baer doesn't take being female as an excuse for being evil.
The dog that his brother killed was replaced by one he rescued when he broke up the dogfighting operation in the first book and
released the dogs. Calls him Stinky Joe and Joe somehow talks to him, whether telepathically or just only talks when it's just
the two of them.
Probably best to start with the first and go from there. Seems to be seven or eight so far. The eighth one includes Baer but
isn't exactly a Baer story.

OK, if people really need to fly from
St. Louis to Nashville
or the other way around or them other places should the taxpayers have to subsidize their travel? If they need it they should find a
way to pay for it.
Scoreboard says we about to hit 37 trillion.
Thought the Memphians might be upset about their
award
but they just said they
trying to fix it.
Either they ain't tryin' very hard or they need someone to show them how. I suspect incompetence and while Memphis goverment is as corrupt as about
any other place like that some say that incompetence is the worst kind of corruption. Some sensible commentary:
Orange Mound resident, Robert Johnson, spoke with WREG and said poor upbringings are responsible.
"It's the upbringing, it's all it can be," Johnson said. "Kids are out here, they don't care. They not shooting at the person they want to be shooting at.
They shooting at everybody."
WREG.com
I have known some South African refugees who got out some other way a while back. They're here legally and they have jobs and businesses and all.
Real good folks. Problem is they're white people. Kinda like Elon. The ones that are still in Africa are being killed off and some applied to
be refugees and some people don't want white people to escape being killed.

Looks like the Wynne school population is declining. Students anyway, probably hiring more personnel. Meanwhile Cross County
continues to grow
as people from Wynne send their kids there. Not that the beanfield school doesn't have it's problems with personnel but that's hard to avoid these days as the
bad ones are usually in some protected class. Having the school out in the middle of nowhere could be helpful as there aren't any places for the kids to wander off
to.
This
was too weird to pass up. Robbing a store with a rifle probably isn't that unusual but handguns are more common but using a tractor for transportation is.
Doesn't say whether he arrived on the tractor. Dunno much about Glen Rose and Wickedpedia don't have much either but they got a Dollar General.
They promised us inflation. Where's the inflation? Please please please give us some inflation so people won't like Trump. What's he doing in the Gulf anyway?
Maybe persuading the big dogs in Saudi Arabia and Qatar to stop some of the killing and stop Iran from getting nukes? Wonder what they think a minimal quality of
life is?

Not only will Left Memphis have a Buc-ee's but may have a big
Google data center.
Like X over in Memphis it makes sense - a lot of abandoned real estate (Google
will have to build because there aren't any huge deserted facilities like in Memphis) and it's near the I-55/I-40 interesecion. That's not as important for data
centers as it is for moving stuff gut a good location. I noticed the congressman from Memphis that's always trying to stir up something is still mad about the
X thing. He's one of those that was
expelled for just as long as it took for him to be voted back in. Sez he worried about pollution. Whatever.
The company that provided the services to the Jonestown jail - I mean
Craighead County Detention Center
- supposedly
settled for just under a million
for the death of a young man a while back. The suit against the city and the cop is pending. Not that a cop employed or not gonna have much money but the city will probably
fight tooth and nail to avoid paying up.
It was a useful
tool for the globalists
for many years and it can be - could be long ago argued that blunting Soviet and Chinese expansion was a worthy goal. A better defense would have been not bankrupting the Republic and
engaging in every ill-advised adventure that came along. And it didn't make the U.S. a superpower, just allowed it to interfere wherever its bosses felt like.
Jessica waited a few minutes before moving, then tested the bonds. She had seen the nylon zip-ties before they put them on her. One on each wrist, connected by a third. She rolled over face down and tried to slide her hands inside the the back pockets of her jeans.
Not bad. Maybe I can do this.
The pockets had been modified, each with a narrow section along one side. The right pocket held the straight razor she always carried. Alex had ground the handle down slightly to make it even thinner, easier to conceal. Still usable though, carefully, and Harry had taught her how. It would be a one-shot deal though, taking the adversary by surprise and striking a fatal or disabling blow immediately.
But first needed her hands free. The center zip-tie was fairly loose. Probably not from concern for her comfort, as they almost certainly intended to kill her. The ones on her wrists were tight enough. But it allowed her to get to the pocket.
She got the handle of the razor between thumb and forefinger and pulled it free. Turning onto her side she opened it, tried to orient it, listening for sounds. She had heard Brewster's footsteps for a while as he left, even with the door closed.
Sharp as this thing is, got to be careful. Even if I get free, if they see blood...
Finally she felt resistance to the blade that suggested it was in contact with the nylon tie. She was glad they hadn't had any disposable handcuffs and had to improvise. The ones used by police might have been impossible to get out of.
Careful, don't rush, slip, drop the razor.
She felt the blade bite, pulled it across while pressing hard.
That's got to be it. Just a bit more.
The tie parted. She carefully closed the razor and sat up. Listening for any sounds that might indicate Brewster's return, she put the razor back into the wider side of her pocket.
Alright. I got one shot. Sit up with my hands behind me. He won't be expecting it.
"The carotid artery bifurcates below the jawline," Harry had said, touching the neck the mannequin. "Slash across, hard. You don't get second chances at this, and you don't want to need one."
He'll probably tell me to get up. If I don't he'll come closer, but may be suspicious. Or too close.
Brewster was a good three or four inches taller than Jessica, wide-shouldered. Should she go for the left or right? The left side was closer to her right hand, she'd have to turn to attack from the left. Giving him more time to counter.
Of course, if he's not alone all bets are off.
Footsteps outside.
That's him.
And voices.
Damn! Both of them.
"Get her out here," someone said. It wasn't Brewster, must be the other guy. She took the razor out and opened it.
Brewster entered, the other party remained outside and out of sight.
"Get up," Brewster said. He moved towards her. He had what looked like a Glock G22 in a holster on his right side. She'd need it if she managed to take care of him.
She stood, stumbling slightly, not entirely acting as keeping her hands behind her wasn't as easy now that they were free. No matter, as he took another step, reaching as if to steady her.
Nice. Being a gentleman.
It also put him in the optimal position. She slashed the razor across his neck hard, twisted away and past him before he could grab her. His hands went to his neck, blood already pouring over them. He would be dead in minutes. And so would she if his partner came in before she got to the gun.
Brewster was already on his knees, and she pushed him over and unsnapped the holster and drew the gun.
Hope he carried it ready, but...
She racked the slide anyway and it ejected a cartridge.
Good, now c'mon.
"What're you doin' in there?"
She didn't recognize the voice. Probably the one they sent to do the deed. Brewster didn't seem the type that would have the nerve.
She went down on one knee, the Glock pointed at the door in the modified Weaver hold Harry and Alex had her practice.
And hope there's just one.
Brewster had barely moved after she had pushed him over. She knew the blade had gone deep, almost snagging on something. The artery was probably severed.
She had never seen the man who came through the door, and fired before he realized what he was seeing. He stopped, tried to raise a hand to his chest, and fell to his knees. She fired two more rounds to be sure, and he fell over and lay still.
The silence that followed was complete. She listened, heard nothing. She went to the door and cautiously looked out.
The corridor was empty. She stepped out and looked. Two other doors past where she was standing were closed. She held the Glock ready at her side and turned to look the other way. Silently, her moccasins making no sound, she moved into the room where Brewster had brought her in.
The door was closed but there was a large window on either side. She crossed the room and looked out.
Brewster's Jeep was there, along with a big four-by-four Ford F-250 that had not been there when they arrived.
Looks like I've got the place to myself for the moment. But how long? I need my phone.
One of them probably has it. Gotta search the bodies.
For now adrenalin was keeping the nausea at bay as she checked. Brewster had a phone in a back pocket.
Please be mine so they'll know it's me calling.
It was. She tapped Alex's number.
"Jess! Where are you?"
"I don't know. Some kind of warehouse maybe, it looks new. Nothing in it but me and two dead guys."
"Check your GPS and give me your location."
Her fingers trembling now she checked and read them.
It was less that a minute but seemed like forever.
"You're on 412 north of the 63 bypass. I'll get someone out there. Be about ten minutes, I'll call you back when they're en route and describe the vehicles.
Beginning to get the shakes.
Another three minutes. The phone rang.
"Dark green Chrysler minivan and a white F-150 crewcab."
"Got it."
"Stay strong girl, just a few more minutes."

His idea of democracy is Democrats in complete control with no opposition. They were close to achieving it and Elon was a big factor in Trump winning but I believe it was destiny.
What difference, at this point, does it make?
