Roxette is a thing again, as in I suppose being reformed. As there were only two members I thought of them as ABBA 2.0 or as ABBA .5 as they came later. ABBA was two guys and two gals and Roxette was one guy and one gal. Sadly original the lead vocalist passed away rather young a few years back. It seems they plan to tour but whether they will release new material is unknown. Got quite a few Roxette tunes in my playlists and probably fans will ge happy to see them again. I believe Marie would approve, they both seemed like nice folks.

This seems reasonable and is likely to pass pretty much as is. Some of the reforms may upset the usual suspects:

  • Stop using DEI as a metric in accreditation standards.
  • Prohibit professors from indoctrinating students with forced statements in support of DEI.
  • Prevent institutions from granting excused absences for protests and other disruptive behavior.
  • Require students who vandalize school property to pay damages before they earn their degree.
  • Allow institutions of higher education that support servicemembers and military families to earn “Purple Star Campus” designations.
  • Consider professors’ work evaluations in tenure review to ensure they are educating students.
  • Not sure what issuing an executive order does to fix things but OK. When you're the mayor of a town in Arkansas with a population of 1,800 down from 2,400 on the previous census but you're in Wickedpedia.... actually I still don't see the need to issue an executive order instead of just getting the pipe repaired. No word recently on whether on not the food desert has been fixed. Google says they got a couple of stores there and a DG Market. Earlie is a pretty good ways from the nearest place of any size, Left Memphis being about over 25 miles and Wynne about 20.

This guy seems to be about average on the TDS scale.

I might have been tempted to spank Mattie occasionally. I admired her nerve and tenacity but she was a bit arrogant as when LaBoeuf says he was raised as a Presbyterian she says "I figured you for some kind of kneeler." She did seem to mellow a bit with age and experience. I believe the Duke got an Oscar or something and it was goof perfomance. Being a bad-ass cowboy or lawman and making acerbic remarks while shooting bad dudes or just beating the stuffing out of them is fun but being a slovenly drunk with the morals of an alley cat and the ethics of a lawyer was bit off the usual track. He and Katharine Hepburn were charming in the followup Rooster Cogburn - kinda like Mattie grown up.

Gotta keep the egg prices up. And food generally - wonder how it affects KFC and Chick-fil-A? I can see how the former regime would want to but maybe Yum is a big donor. They own Pizza Hut too and back when I used to eat bad stuff sometimes if there was a KFC/Pizza Hut combo around I'd the chicken and pizza at the same time. Anyhow don't forget the people that want to slaughter millions of birds because they allegedly found six or seven somewhere are the same ones that did the Planedmic.

"I'm so angry," a senior epidemiologist in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention who supervised some of those affected by the cuts told AFP. "We're on the verge of potentially another pandemic and we're firing the people who have probably more expertise than anyone else in the country collectively."

    KJNB
Run that through the propaganda translator (or the thought bubbles in the comics that shows what somebody thinking) and it look something like:
"I'm so angry," a senior epidemiologist in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said. "We almost had the next big plandemic ready and then Donald Trump came in and stopped us."
Backyard chickens may or may not be as big a target as is damaging the ecomomy but they are definitely on the radar of the people that want to tell everybody what then can and can't or must not eat or drink. Homegrown chickens and gardens allow people to escape their control. Ever notice if you in places like Lowe's and Tractor Supply - the two places I notice it most - a lot of people people using cash compared to Wal-Mart or the grocery store. Can't track building supplies and agricultural stuff so easy. I expect it's pretty common - I bought a big Husqvarna 54-incher last year and the guy didn't seem to find me peeling off fifty-one C-notes strange. They even had a bill counter like in the bank to count them and detect counterfeits.

Anyway there won't be any plandemics this time - people will squawk but with diminished influence of the state-run media it'l be harder to get it going. Just me but I wish they'd go ahead and indict a few and get them into prison and the others will chill a bit. We're not out of the woods yet.
The difference between the partisan resisting is that they are fighting for freedom and will do so even knowing that they may lose their own lives because that those who come after will be free. The minions of authoritarian regimes - politicians, news media, celebrities - are almost universally physical cowards. As long as they can incite - or pay - the unwashed malcontents to riot and burn and loot they will make bold and indignant speeches. President Trump expressed it slightly inartfully (as usual) when he said of Miss Piggy 'Put her with a rifle standing there with 9 barrels shooting at her, OK?'. The number nine was seized upon to suggest a firing squad (the average is generally about five) but the point that she and her ilk are abject cowards was made. If the time comes when they are dragged off to pay for their crimes - even if it is only prison time and the loss of their ill-gotten wealth - there are few who won't plead and weep and promise anything go get out of their jam. To shamelessly borrow from Monty Python - nobody expects the French Revolution. For now it seems that we have avoided that but as Ronald Reagan said - Freedom is a fragile thing and it's never more than one generation away from extinction.

    Alex@MyndCryme

Dunno how we got there but lessee what else going on. Little early for the weekend mayhem. Reporting anyway - probably some is happening as we speak. Or as I write. What the guys and gals at MyndCryme talkin' about?

I notice some of them are obsessed with the shirtless Putin thing. He's about lessee, four year older than me. That pic was a ways back, he'd be about 57 then and wasn't looking bad for that age. Compare him with most of the politicians in the US or Europe who had on him so much and most are a bunch of fat slobs and younger. What I think of him? He's an enigma but as Churchill said of Russia being 'a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma' it suppose it's not surprising that Putin is like that. Sorting out the facts from fiction being as our own news just flat lies most of the time and reliable information getting out of Russia and into the hands of non-liars he hard to figure. It seems that he is determined to preserve and strengthen Russia above anything. No doubt he had to deal with the Devil some - in the forms of oligarchs he can't control (or cause to fall out of windows) - or China and squirrelly regimes like Iran and North Korea. Since he is now dealing with a U.S.A. that is not going along with the cabal we can expect the Ukrainian mess and the Gaza affair to be put to bed soon.

    What, Chris?

Do I think Putin is a nice guy? Probably not but he's not dealing with nice people. Biden is as evil as they come and he was motivated solely by wealth and power and the power he wanted was to oppress people and take away their freedom. The Russian people are better off than they've ever been and conditions will improve with peace and the end of the economic war against Russia. I don't believe President Trump quite has the picture on Russia yet but he's got smart people working for him what is good for the U.S.A. is not necessarily bad for Russia and vice versa. China is whole nother story as is the Middle East but with us getting our swamp drained and some of the foolishness shut down it will be easier to fix them other things.

That copy was seen in a Dollar Tree store. Fact is I've seen a lot of books by minions of past Democrat regimes in Dollar Tree. The presidents and presidential spouses get theirs bought by the truckload by donors, mainly to put them on the best-seller list since the amount of money from sales is small compared to the other financial input. They usually get a decent advance of a million or three or more for the big ones but the books don't sell. Comey and some of those guys are looking over their shoulders about now if they didn't get a universal one-size-fits-all forever pardon and I don't remember Comey getting one.

Water is back on in Earle but they gotta boil for a while. Believe if I lived there I wouldn't drink the water but... nevermind.

About the only crime so far is the shooting on Saturday and nothing new on that. Nobody dead so it may be a while before anybody gets cuffed and stuffed. Sometimes it's a while if somebody did get dead. If they spelled the street right it looks like it over where the railroad run through Nettleton. That's not far from Race Street.

Bad weather on the way and the governor declared a state of emergency. Could go look at the Facebook page where the malcontents troll the governor posts but that's only amusing for a couple of minutes. Guess I'll check later and see if anything happened. It's Monday so pretty sure President Trump will do something to get them riled up. Paper didn't have any new toons or editorials - wonder if they taking the day off for the holiday thing.

Seems a few people braved the seasonably cold weather (30s in February is seasonable isn't it?) to express their outrage at something or other that President Trump is doing. That was in Jonestown - looks like a dozen or almost a dozen. If we had a local Jesse Watters he could go up to some of them and ask them to explain what it is that is being done that they don't like and probably get the usual responses.

Rebecca Roberts, a protestor and president of the Northeast Arkansas Young Democrats, said Musk's involvement in the government was 'disturbing.'

"Just what I've been seeing on the news of, essentially a man that is unelected, making so many decisions for American people; even Trump, I don't like the decisions he's making, but it's especially disturbing seeing Musk, who we didn't vote for at all, essentially running the government right now," Roberts said.

    Jonesbororightnow.com
Well cupcake, nobody elected anybody except President Trump and Vice-President Vance and their representatives and senators. That's it and in Arkansas we elected two Republican senators and four Republican representatives and zero Democrats for anything. We just went through four years of the most corrupt administration since Clinton (Obama was about equal to Slick Willie) and now the swamp is being drained and all the slimy creatures are wiggling around trying to find a pool of muddy water deep enough to cover them.

Over in Memphis they did better or so it seems. TV station only had one pic and there about two dozen peoples. A feller they interviewed said "he is hoping that Tennessee representatives 'stand up,' and 'start to take a position.' The position of most of Tennessee is firmly behind the President and the people he chooses to get the job done. That's most of them which is to say the ones that don't live in Memphis.

A highball glass falling about two feet onto a laminate over concrete floor will break into a bunch of pieces. The floor was hardened considerably - I remember when I built the place near thirty years ago the contractor asked me what additives to put in - calcium and something or other - and cutting channels for new plumbing was some kinda work. Luckily it was empty as even a few ounces of Rare Breed on the floor is a sad sight.

No killings reported so far and if there's any bodies waiting to be found we'll have to wait until they're found. Out-of-towners coming to Jonestown to steal continues to keep the Craighead Detention Center busy. Guys from Left Memphis and Hughes I can see coming to Jonestown since the Left Memphis Wal-Mart is locked down like something I probably shouldn't say. Jonestown got a couple of real nice Wal-Marts but and I guess being in the Craighead County jail is probably better than bein' in the one in Left Memphis. Didn't say where the other perp was from but the jail roster says he from Jonesboro. Okey-dokey.

Some people really are so slow they don't get the obvious. Trump says he might take over Gaza and make it like the Riviera (not a bad idea) and immidiately Saudi Arabia is interested in doing it and before long:

No way do any of the ME states want an American presence, even non-military. The sane ones - Saudi Arabia, Jordan, ed al. can easily pay to do it and given the profit potential - something like Singapore on the Mediterranean - would be irrestible. They can easily neutralize the terrorists and Iran but until now haven't had a reason to do it along with a reasonable expectation that the U.S. won't fuck it up any time soon.

    Silexis@MyndCryme
Pretty much my thoughts. The Saudis and similary-disposed want money and should be happy to divvy up the lucrative output of such a state. BTW, Idunno if Silexis thought that up first but he wasn't the only. It's what I thought of and Trump seems to have had a similar idea.

Jonestown paper got a new TDS-toon. I maintain that attempts at humor fail if there isn't an element of truth in it. I can laugh at a joke or cartoon about Donald Trump if it has a basis in reality but if there's any truth in the Trump-haters pics it's accidental or they don't recognize it.
