Flowers of the Night is from
Baron von Tollbooth and the Chrome Nun.
That was Paul Kantner and Grace Slick of the Jefferson Airplane and a bunch of other people including most the Airplane folks and people like
Jerry Garcia and David Crosby and the young guy that would later be the Jefferson Starship and even later Starship guitarist. Overall it's
pretty good. Flowers is about revolutionaries and revolutions generally with references to the French and Russian revolutions.
The Google AI thing correctly deduces that sarcasm was the point but the Airplane/Starship folks were sarcastic a lot. I used to play the
the vinyl side 2 first because
Across the Board is a better opener. I like Grace's piano style and she also sings it so a pretty
good deal. In fact it's probably my favorite track with
Flowers taking second place. Google got the part about Paul Kantner writing
it wrong - it was written by Jack Traylor. Later I asked Google about it again and it sez it's by Jefferson Airplane so it's definitely not
ready for prime time.
Okey-dokey. Bad weather over so the malefactors may be gettin' out and malefacting and we get some crime reports. Not that I like crime
but it don't seem to stop so I like to keep up with it. Or do the political stuff?
KJNB tells us
about Dan Bongino being appointed deputy
FBI boss. Actually it sez "Trump names right-wing podcaster as FBI deputy director." Now Dan is probably best known as a podcaster because
he got pretty famous that way. But how come they didn't say "President Trump names former police officer and Secret Service agent as FBI
deputy director?" That would be accurate and informative but that isn't what news is for. Not for these folks anyways.
They
arrested the guy
alleged to have kilt a highway construction worker
back in November.
Caught this one in Chicago. You might remember he and somebody else stole a Caddy and a Corvette and fled to Memphis where they found the 'vette burned
but not this perp. Guess he probably be in the
Crittenden County Detention Center
when they get him back to Arkansas bein' as the killin' ocurred in CrittCo. Believe I mentioned a while back they got a lousy website... hang on....
What, Chris?
Nah, just readin' the names to see if there anything especially unusual. OK, I'll check back later and see if he in there. Did I mention that the CrittCo
jail is one of the ones I'd least like to be in. Left Memphis, Forrest City, no thanks. Not that I wanna be in any jail. Back in the day, 1960s I's a kid
at home Mom listening to the radio all day and I hear the commercials. There a company I guess Crittenden or Cross County that distributed beer.
Schlitz
was big back then, probably about like Budweiser or maybe bigger. Hear the commercials all day for the Critt-Cross distributing company. Mom wasn't listening
much except when the news come on ever hour. And the hospital report and funeral announcements whenever that was, maybe after the 6-oclock news. The songs
she couldn't have been paying much attention to as I heard stuff like
The Grapes in Mary's Vineyard
and
The Birthmark Henry Thompson Talks About
or maybe she figured I'm too young to get what it was about. Anyhow something happened to Schlitz, don't remember what. Maybe some marketing snafu like New Coke?
Anyhow it weren't as popular any more.
Jonestown paper ain't got any new editorial stuff yet, Paragould neither. Commentate on world stuff? Nah, take a break.

I use Firefox about all the time. Occasionally use Chrome for something or other but FF is the most comfortable. The default install has the adblocker disabled and
some silly thing they call "Pocket". It puts up a screen of links to mostly trash. The chicken thing is some food site with no overt politics but most people don't
understand the situation. Small personal flocks - backyard chickens - are a target. That's why somehow while they killing ten to twenty million chickens because
they found a half dozen somewhere with bird flu they also put news reports about people having it in their yardbirds. With some of the trash taken out at CDC there
may be less Plandemic generation. Those old Bloomberg articles about one of the reasons Putin wants Ukraine is for the rare earth mineral deposits are still out
there. And
Russell Vought
is one they really hate and fear. Slate is a relic from the attempt by Microsoft to achieve significance in the digital world. MSNBC is another - Billy Gates
was still running the show and was always wrong about everything decided to start a TV channel that combined the two. It failed so bigly that Microsoft soon
bailed out but name remained the same. Slate is a commie propaganda (digital) magazine.
In Jonestown most of the day. See what happened elsewhere. Lessee....
Jonestown paper had a new political toon and a couple of explanations how the
end is coming soon because Trump
and
women and minorities will be hit hardest.
The end that was getting close before Trump 2.0 was bad enough I believe I prefer the Trump version.
Some believe that MDS may be worse than TDS. Wonder what it's like bein' in the heads of them as has got both.

MSLSD is paying Madcow twenty-something million to do a show that nobody watches. Not literally nobody but close - cats stepping on the remote could generate
as many viewers as had. The bald woman has a lower IQ than Madcow who is maybe average. MSDNC is owned by Comcast and maybe they figured flushing money down
a toilet at that rate was worth it to prevent Trump 2.0. Now that it failed one need not be a genius to expect them to cut it loose - only question is who
would buy it with CNN probably in the same position. The other three-letters are in another leaky boat and all might be on the market. Maybe a
Newsweak
magazine deal where they
sell it for a dollar
and assumption of debt? In other news Jeff Bezos seems to have noticed that
the newspaper he bought
was an anti-capitalist commie rag and told them to cut it out. That's got
some folks raging impotently.
Okey-dokey, what happening locally? Over in Memphis - actually somewhere over the Mississippi River a
woman leaped from the bridge
into the water and the MPD Harbor Patrol fished her out. The Left Memphis police apparently witnessed it but Left Memphis don't have a harbor patrol. Reportedly she
will receive a psychological evaluation. Ain't like jumping off the
Golden Gate
where it less than a half percent survive.
Get to the angry toon in the paper in a minute. Wynne had a
drug bust
of some people that would seem to be old enough to know better. I suspect I remember one
of them from school days. His older brother was my age and we graduated together. Ran into him a while back and he had got a government job and retired with
the pension and medical and all. He'd be about two years older - funny how different two brothers that close in age can turn out so different but I've seen it
happen plenty.
About all of the local purveyors of news had the
shootin' at Leachville
so I'll give the backlink to Jonesbororightnow. Leachville little town over in Mississippi County. Knew a few people lived there back in the day, in the bank a couple of times
on business when I was in that business. Anyhow it a sleepy little place where nothing much happens but it's in Mississippi County so there's that.
Big drug bust - bunch of people anyway - in
Poinsett County.
Some of them was old enough to know better too but some people never seem to get it.
Couple of other things in the stack of stuff but believe I'll stop there.
What, Chris?
Right, the cartoon of the day.
Friday 28 February 2025 09:43:03 PM CST
Google AI tells me that Jennifer engineered the second meeting (the first one was when he was jogging with Meathead the bulldog) because she wanted
to see if she could get info about her targets. I'll have to watch it again and see if I pick that up - it did seem she wanted to have another encounter
but don't remember just now how it happened. Anyhow we got her having a beer with Harry and he don't know she's the killer - he'll find that out after
they end up in bed - and she seems a little startled that a Frisco homicide detective (she killed the first one in Frisco) has showed up in the same place
she went lookin' for another one.
I approve of revenge if it don't break the law. Under the right circumstances I suppose lawbreaking could be justified but be prepared for the consequences
if you get caught. Now whether it's the oldest motivation.... there's always money but I guess if it's retributive homicide it about has to be about revenge.
Last day of BHM and wasn't much in the news. Alphabet month is June but they got about a dozen or two holidays and weeks the rest of the year. Maybe it will
eventually assume a similar status.
Jonestown and Paragould papers had new TDS/MDS toons. And opinions - I agree that some people need psychological help but not the kind that
reinforces their delusions.
As for
Jim Guy's legacy
- he got to be governor when Slick Willie left to be president and then got elected because Arkansas was still electing
Democrat governors back then. Couple of years he was convicted of a crime and announced that he was not guilty but would resign and then decided he wouldn't
resign until his appeals failed and that was when Lt. Governor Mick Huckabee
started impeachment
and Jim Guy went ahead and resigned. Jim Guy managed to avoid prison and Mike was governor until term-limited out and now his daughter is governor.
Saturday 1 March 2025 10:22:53 PM CST
Apparently there were quite a few
illegals in Arkansas.
Those aren't here any more or soon won't be.
I knew ten years ago not to
leave vehicles unlocked
in Paragould and much of the population growth has been undesirables.
Over in Memphis situation normal as
regular crime
is about average and the latest generation of a
local crime family
continues the tradition.
Jonestown paper about the same. It would be interesting to see the traffic on the website. Digital subscriptions about $75 a year and they ain't selling much paper.
I doubt they pay much attention or even know now to analyze it - just haphazardly put content up and rely on ads. If they had a decent site and it was free they'd
get more hits on what ads they do have. Have a premium content section for subscribers and probably make more money than they do now.
Editorially they got more
TDS/MDS
and what
this
is about I have no idea. It certainly isn't about President Trump - except for the writer's obsession with him.
I don't believe I ever heard Trump talk about peace prizes and the unnamed advisor is probably fictional since these people as
Ronald Reagan
said "know a lot of things that aren't so". In any case who would want one when it has been given to bloody-handed genocidal terrorists and Obama was awarded one before he assumed office.
I listened to
this conversation.
I have overheard many conversations between collections officers and a customer behind on his loan payments. That's what Zelensky sounds like here except for the bad English.
Think I'll take the rest of the day off. Seeya.
Where are all the mercenaries paid for by the king? Have they joined the mob you say? Doesn't money mean anything?
Flowers of the Night
Baron vol Tollbooth and the Chrome Nun.
AI Overview Learn more
This line, from the song "Flowers of the Night" by Jefferson Airplane, is a pointed question asking where the king's hired soldiers are, implying that even though
they are paid, they have sided with the rebellious "mob" instead, suggesting that money and loyalty are not absolute in times of uprising.
Key points about the lyric:
Mercenaries and loyalty:
The "mercenaries paid for by the king" are soldiers who are supposed to be loyal solely because they are paid by the monarch, but the question implies that this
loyalty is not guaranteed, especially during a revolt.
"Joined the mob":
"Mob" here refers to the group of people rebelling against the king, suggesting that even the king's paid soldiers are turning against him.
"Doesn't money mean anything?":
This is a rhetorical question expressing disbelief that the mercenaries would abandon their financial incentive to fight for the king.

Mail-in voting was a big part of the fraud in 2020. I suppose they would be mad if
Trump reforms the post office. Funny how that's what he chose to be upset about.

It definitely needs fixing - go to three day delivery and some other fixes. Who needs
to get mail every day?

Who needs to get mail every other day? I'd be good with twice a week. In the unlikely
event you have a bill to to pay it's there at least fifteen to twenty days before it's due.
The only reason for mail is for proof of delivery on certified letters but whenever I
reply to a lawyer threat I always begin by advising them that I will reply within thirty
days and then wait about forty. B

Probably cleaning up the system - streamlining, closing wasteful facilities, would save
a lot of money but too many union jobs held by democrat voters depend on it.

Allen and I palled around after high school as we didn't go to college. We both worked at the
copper tubing factory over in Benton. The money was good and we both had new cars
before long and plenty of money for liquor and dope. Not that either of us did any dope
besides pot. Fifteen dollars a lid and we only we smoked on weekends. Sometimes just the
two of us or with a couple of girls or one or two other guys we trusted enough to get drunk or
fucked up around, Fucked up meant getting high on pot but generally it meant being stoned.
Just smoking a joint or two and getting mellowed out and listening to music was what we
did.
Andrew was a couple of years older than us and a small-time dealer. We each bought a lid
or two from him every week or so and he seemed to do pretty well. He didn’t work and drove
anew Trans-Am and lived in a house owned by his parents. They were both living in
Alabama and visited occasionally but otherwise Andy and his kid sister had the place to
themselves. She generally had a few friends over and doing what young people did while
Andy had one of several girlfriends around most of the time. He explained the economics of
dealing.
“As pot goes," he said, "I get five or six pounds a week from a guy in St. Louis. One twenty
five a pound. Sixteen lids at fifteen bucks is two-forty. One-fifteen it's nearly a hundred
percent profit. You interested in getting in?"
Three hundred and something a week at the factory and we were doing pretty well. We
rented a place together and car payments were just over a hundred a month. An extra fifty
bucks a week sounded good - if we sold a pound and split the profit. And the lid or two we
would use would only cost seven to eight bucks.
We went to St. Louis with Andy and bought a couple of pounds. He got two and some other
stuff - I didn't want to know that it was - and we went back to Benton. We split the pounds
into baggies and had it all sold in a week.
“We're good," Allen said after we sold the last lid. “The only way they can get us now is if
somebody testifies they bought from us, probably have to be at a grand jury.”
That brought a sobering thought. We didn't do it again, figuring it wasn't worth the risk - not
for a hundred bucks that we didn't even need. Eventually two guys we knew went to prison
just that way and back then it could be up to ten years just for selling pot.

I got the new edition of Winning Bigly. The subtitle "Persuasion in a World Where

fail to persuade because that's not the point - the point is that lying and slander don't
persuade anyone. Their audience remains the chronic malcontents and midwit
