Hellboy funny as all getout and course I've watched about a dozen times and probably will again. The characters were likeable if one of the actors isn't. Especially liked John Hurt and Selma Blair - sadly she has had some health problems in recent years. Hellboy's acerbic dialogue is the main attraction and every few seconds he'll crack you up with something.

The sequel wasn't bad but the problem with bein' a sequel, well they usually ain't as good. I ain't never read the comics and might orta see of they been reprinted books the way some are. Probly are since there no since in not makin some more money from those that come along later don't have to go paying collectors for their copies. Got some of the old Legion of Superheroes that way - they' one of my favorites back in the day, long with Batman and Superman. Wasn't that much interested in Marvel stuff.

Dunno if this guy is from Jonestown or wherever. Seems he stole a church van in Jonestown and got stopped Wynne PD and they found the van was stolen so got arrested and spent a little time in the Cross County Jail before being shipped back to Jonestown and probably the Craighead County Detention Center.... lemmesee..... yep. Article also says a juvie was apprehended with a stolen Maserati. Usually you see a Maserati stolen you go look to see if you can find pic in case it's some sexy sports car and it's a four-door see-dan in some boring bluish-greyish colol. They do still make some nice-looking two-doors though. Wouldn't mind having a GranTurismo.

Did I talk about the Jonestown paper? Seem like I did but they had new toon today. This guy pretty much makes fun of all things political equally for both sides of the fence and on it.

I suspect that Cities on Flame was because Buck had an awesome new riff and needed something to sing with it. They played it a lot back in the day, always a favorite. Hard to believe it been over fifty years. California got some cities on flame for sure and this time it may not be like before. Which is to say that some people are getting redpilled the hard way. As I write this it's getting worse and it was already bad. Whatever happens I may go out on a limb and say that Newsom's political career is over. A friend sent this over this morning:

The Newsom one is a composite but works for me to illustrate the character of the two men. Trump has just been shot and jumps up and yells "Fight!" while Newsome is running away from a citizen asking what he's gonna do and he's pretending he's trying to call somebody. I suspect though that he is so delusional that he'll actually to run in 2028. JD would eviscerate him and debates if he even got the nomination and if he and Giggles are in (the primaries) he may be out before she is.

The fact that a lot of very rich folks are getting hit between the eyes with the two-by-four of reality doesn't necessarily mean they won't continue to elect Democrats. As H. L. Mencken said "Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard." In this case some rich folks are getting it but whether it does any good remains to be seen.

A million and a half to study railroad crossings in Jonestown. Idathought there more than eighteen. Said it about safety - I guess that's what minimizing interactions between trains means. I don't wanna interact with a train so I stop even if the arms ain't down cause I seen a train runnin' through crossings and they wasn't down and the lights weren't on more than once. So I stop and

What, Chris?

The one on whatever that road is comes off 49 and after a while turns north into Paragould. Hang on and I'll tell you.... 69 maybe. Ain't been out that way in a while. Anyway I stop at railroads.

What?

Who do you report stuff like that to? That one was flaky for a while. More'n once I stopped and drove slow over it and heard the bells come on and looked in the mirror and the lights on but the arms weren't down. Knew a guy was in a truck, him and another guy worked for a company, forget which. One of them crossings down in Cross County gotta be real careful, there no lights and bad visibility. Got hit by a train and disabled. Railroad paid something arout nine million. Bought a big piece of land up on the ridge and built one big house there. Elevator (OK, he was crippled) fancy high-dollar entertainment and all. Spent all the rest of the money and couldn't keep up the house and tried to sell it. I seem to remember it gettin' down under a million askin' price and no buyers out there in the middle of nowhere. House burnt. Insurance didn't wanna pay but the lawyer that got the railroad to pay up got a little something out of them but not much.

What?

I's just sayin' you got lights and bars what else you need. If you ain't got'em put some up. Lessee, million and a half for eighteen crossings about 80K apiece to study'em. Go out there and see if there ain't no lights and bars 80K go a good ways to gettin some. I know that Gee Street got'em and so does the one on Airport Road. I avoid both places for reasons than the railroad. What Railroad Crossing Elimination means Idunno. Build over/underpasses everywhere?

I personally knew one person who died with her parents at a rural crossing and the wife of another acquaintance died at a crossing in town. I'm somewhere near paranoid about railroad crossings and would be even if I didn't know people who perished that way. I wish there were over/underpasses at every crossing but there aren't so being cautious enough to the point of annoying people. Being alive is still kinda fun even at my age.

This just in: the persecutor in another one of the Trump witch hunts has resigned. No word on whether he got one of the Universal One-Size-Fits-All Forever pardons. Nine days until the American Renaissance begins. I know President Trump won't go after these people. Not that he shouldn't but he's got more important things to do. It may be that the DOJ will act on some of the more wicked ones and for sure there'll be some looking over their shoulders and jump every time they hear the doorbell. I hope so anyway. At least they get to see all their schemes come to nothing.

California still burning and some say it may get worse through Wednesday. Plenty been said and still being said elsewhere and different versions from different people. I asked Google is Calfornia the only state that has big fires every year? but the AI tool didn't have anything except the usual climate change garbage. Idunno if there's one or more states that doesn't have at least one big fire a year but California seems to the the only one where it's guaranteed to have them. I spent some time out there and it rains like crazy all winter and don't ever get that cold and then it don't rain and gets dry and all that so you'd think they would do the brush clearing and firebreaks and stuff to mitigate the damage somewhat.

You'd also think they wouldn't be paying abject idiots near to over a half million a year to screw things up so they got no water and not enough people to spray the water on the fires and all that.

Chris looking at me like "you said you weren't gonna talk about it" so lets go.

I was just talking about railroad crossings and they had a fatal 'interaction' as they call them up around Marmaduke. Won't tell the mildly amusing tale about Marmaduke cause I hate these things. People probably never had any idea of doing something wrong end up dead for who knows what reason. Why railroad crossings scare me. Marmaduke is up north of Paragould on 49 for non-NEA types.

Pretty much all the news sites had the shootin' yesterday ayem so NEA Report gets the link. Seems the shootee and somebody else injured but I guess they was shot it would say so were transported to the hospitals (one went to Saint Barnyards and the other to NEA) in privately owned vehicles so if they weren't insured at least there won't be ambulance rides on the taxpayers tab. If they need a helicopter to Memphis POVs are kinda out of the question. I had to have two ambulance rides in one day and my platinum BCBS policy would only pay for one per day so I was stuck with the other. Since I might have been dead without the second one I figure it was worth it.

What, Chris?

Just kidding.

They certainly do.

Plane crash over in Independence County just happened so nothin' on it except it happened.

Dunno if I ever talked about Priest before. Been doing this a year but whatever. Painkiller was the first album with Rob back. They was OK during the whatever the time was that he was gone and I like Ripper but glad to have Rob back. Still some vinyl in those days and I may have the vinyl - hafta check the library some day. Anyway vinyl had to sides, generally Side 1 and Side 2 but sometimes something like Side A and Side B or in the case of Queen's second outing Side White and Side Black but you had to be there. Kinda hit and miss after Queen II but this ain't about Queen. Side 2 of Painkiller begins with Nightcrawler which has the feel of The Sentinel from way back on Screaming for Vengeance with the blended guitars of Glenn and KK and then a set of longer ones finishing with OSOG. Anyhow that going into the big one sorta vibe, Vikings and such. War probably ain't like that much for a long time but OSOG cranked up is good anytime you get the chance.

Okey-dokey, what we got?

I'd about forgot this one. Couple of years ago. I give up tryin' to figure why some people do the things they do. Twenty-four years old, probably won't do the whole life but probably twenty years or more of taxpayer expense. Wish we had a more economical way of keeping dangerous people penned up. It's possible to do it humanely but some people's idea of humane ain't reasonable.

Usual garden variety mischief, MLK day coming up, and then you got the first of Idunno how many pride months.

Finally got the IDs on the two that showed up at the hospitals and the plane crash. This ain't showed up in NEA news yet but the Memphis telly station had it. Hadn't been seeing much from Forrest City or Wynne lately so dunno if crime is up or they just started reporting it more.

Speaking of Memphis the stream I get most of my right wing extremist talk shows (what soon to be former president calls extreme MAGA Republicans) on is on the one of the Memphis stations. Now I'll say what I said a few times already bimbos (or bimboes) can be either sex or any age or race color religion whatever. A bimbo is... keeping this family friendly. Anyways they ain't very bright and for some reason they seem to think they need to appear smart anyway. So the station has the traffic and weather bits on about ever commercial break. And the weather reader does this thing where she sez we'll be tracking temperatures in the sixties tonight or tracking rain through tomorrow or that weather tracks through overnight and such and so. And it ain't just the one, there three or more do it. Always sayin' they tracking something. Like something they think makes them sound smart. Who cares if people listening thinking you're smart? You're not tracking anything unless it's leftover donuts in the breakroom. You ain't sittin' in front of a radar display looking at weather stuff so just stop already. I don't care if anybody think I'm smart and don't need to impress anybody but that's just me. I suppose I should call'em meteorologists because technically they are as they have degrees in meteorology. Used to anyway, look at their bios on the website. Jonestown station got four of them.

I'll check later and see if the Parkin police chief is still in jail. Seems he got arrested for some kind of perjury but didn't say how much bail.

Dunno how many people gonna lose jobs when the Monroe plant closes but probably quite a few. It a big place I've known quite a few people worked there. Seems like it been there forever but they say 50 years.

Reckon that'll do for now.

Awww. Not much mushy stuff in there, there another minor romance but mostly action. Might be warm enough to finish plantin' trees and stuff tomorrow. Lessee, probly get a bit of icy nastiness before February over but so far not bad. Like a mild wet winter. Bought a growed-up place with waist-high grass and weeds that'll hafta be bush-hogged first thing when it dries up.

Authorities are saying the Forrest City shootin' was accidental. Okey-dokey, fine with me. Weird though.

Had a shootin' over in Misery that required choppering a participant to a hospital. Didn't say where but in Kennett Memphis would be closest. What's the probability that people gettin' shot have good insurance that covers helicopter rides? One that went to hospital was a juvie and one that was arrested was a juvie for what that's worth.

Believe I said the Jonestown paper puttin' Bloomberg editorial stuff. Had one about right-wing extremists being elected in Europe. Right-wing extremists being people who object to the indigenous people being brutalized by newcomers. The shape the UK is in having President Trump be in a situation like Ronaldus Magnus with Maggie Thatcher may be unrealistic expectations but you never know.

The toon didn't lean any particular way. Guy seems to be a lefty but slaps a everybody. They definitely having it out there in California. The fact that California has been run by an idiocracy has been apparent for a long time but as me gramdma used to say the chickens are comin' home to roost.
