The Moody Blues occupy a space with just a handful other groups. The Hollies remind me a lot of them, a fairly clean-cut image in a wild time. Groups like Renaissance and Steeleye Span are a couple of my favorites in that category. The group I was stuck with in the early seventies (the elite class in junior high and high school - top twenty cherry-picked for special attention) like them and the other fashionable stuff, intellectual and all. I still listen to the classic Moodies stuff and got two or three good concert vids. They weren't hard rockers but Justin could lay it down on songs like I'm Just a Singer in a Rock and Roll Band and he's of the greats as a singer.

Magnetic ink may seem strange to younger people but going into the banking business for a while I know what it is. People don't use checks much these days and it ain't so important but them funny numbers on the bottom of a check was real important then. They called MICR which means Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (we called it the 'micker line') and it's how the machines read checks. Humans can read'em too so you can look at the check and see the account number and the check number and the routing number over on the left that tells what bank the check is drawn on. The blank space on the right side is for the machines to put the amount in. Back then the banks had machines to read and sort them and send them where they was to go. Keeping the check processing machines was a lucrative business - knew a few guys made small fortunes that way.

Arkansas Democrats talked back to the governor's speech but since I didn't comment on it I won't comment on that either. Fair enough? Legislature is back and things may be interesting what with them wanting to cut out people buying junk food with food stamps and expanding educational freedom. Democrats don't like that but there aren't very many so we should be good.

In five days we will begin the Restoration of the Republic and Biden takes one final feeble swipe. OK Joey. They guy they buried the other day probably died happy knowing he wasn't the worst. That record is likely to be yours for good.

Believe I mentioned the Jonestown paper was putting stuff from Bloomberg on the editorial page. It's hard to tell if these guys actually take President Trump's trolling seriously or just have to react. Same with the cartoonists.

The drugs the docs used on Alex were for crazy people but served to make him appear comatose and brain-damaged. His folks got him out but psycho-pharma drugs cause crossed wires in the central nervous system so he's still trying put things together while getting some organized criminals riled up by threatening a big fat cash cow. Something may be about to get real.

Dunno how many of the small-time crimes I commented on lately, what with bodies being found and more dumb criminals. I'm a law-abiding citizen and I check the headlights and taillights on whichever vehicle I'm driving. Don't want to interact with law enforcement. I got an '03 Dakota I use for bangin' around, specially if I may get on a gravel road. Now them Dakotas got two bulbs each of the front turn signals and if one burns out it makes that fast blink like you got a light out but it only does it part of the time. So some day I may make a right turn and there a cop behind me and he stop me thinkin' I got a bulb out. Dunno what he'll do if I show'em it's working. Depend on the cop I reckon. Probably next time it's in for maintenance I have it looked at.

Where was I? Oh yeah, who drives around in a car with a stolen piece and drugs with non-functional brake lights? Dumb criminals I reckon. Wouldn't want to have smart ones but I suspect smart ones are less likely to be caught.

KAIT took the Biden - Chris, whaddayacall a senile old man reading a speech written by seventh-graders with commie teachers?

Anyway they plugged in the usual Dissociated Press piece on what one hopes will be the last one. As usual I won't dignify it with any more comment that that.

Jonestown paper still changing some stuff, can't see the poltical toons. Probably just as well we have fun making fun of them. Editorials are typical wherever they get them from.

Jonesbororightnow has a piece about a young man from Brookland goin' to the inauguration. Seems a sensible fellow:

"I just thought it'd be a cool experience and something that will never happen again in my lifetime," Johnson said. For him. he said, it's more about seeing Trump enter office for the second time than just attending a presidential inauguration.

He added that he would not have been interested in attending if Vice President Kamala Harris had won.

If they had managed to get Giggles in there would be a lot of people gettin' ready for bad things. Preppers would be well off as we'd have a chance to use some of the supplies from twenty years back and no telling where gold and silver would be. I'm just find with not having to deal with it. At least no more bad stuff happens for four years and maybe we get twelve or more.

The long dark night ends on Monday and somehow that seems to be the end date of this post. Probably because I planned it that way. Should be interesting. The night wasn't so dark here in Arkansas during RINO Asa Hutchinson's reign of error and it's been over for while.

The legislature is at work and got all kinds of stuff they want to do. Most seem at least harmless and some may do some good. Unfortunately the most important ones will have the handful of dims kicking but they are just a handful. Still they can get pretty nasty and lie about stuff. The one to eliminate people spending taxpayer money on junk food with food stamps will have them how somehow not allowing people to buy sodas and chips and ice cream with their SNAP cards is somehow inhumane. I'd say cuttin' out some of the unhealthy stuff will be good for them health-wise.

One of the dim senators ranted about something in the governor's state of the state speech, something about here demonizing somebody or other. Didn't hear any minorities demonized and if holding teachers responsible for conduct detrimental to the well-being of students is demonizing then let the demomization continue. It may have been the medicaid reform thing - does he think that only minorities use Medicaid?

If it upsets the House Minority Leader it's most likely a good thing. Rick Crawford is probably the best rep from Arkansas (and Tom Cotton the best senator) and while Turner seems to have done pretty decently he didn't support an investigation of the election fraud that removed President Trump from office. That turned out to be a good thing as Donald Trump is like Obi-Wan Kenobi - strike him down and he becomes stronger than anyone on the other side expected. I expect Turner's refusal to support the election fraud investigation may have been part it - the guy doesn't have the necessary spine.

Sudden Impact is probably my favorite Dirty Harry movie. The first three were made in about a five year period and Sudden Impact was about seven yars after the third one. The last one hardly deserves mentioning but more on that in a minute or three. I was probably saw it in Memphis or Jonestown when it was released. I remember when Harry makes his first appearance I heard a bunch of people saying "he looks old". I guess if you missed a few he would. Sondra Locke was back after Bronco Billy and The Gauntlet and the ones with the big monkey thing. Eventually for some reason or other they didn't get along and...

Couple of guys worked with Clint was back in this one. Pat Hingle as the police chief haunted by his failure to do the right thing because family and Albert Popewell. He alternated between criminal and cop in four of the films and for some reason didn't do the last one. Has the bank robber that Harry asked if he felt lucky and then a pimp whacked by the vigilante cops in Magnum Force and a suspected 'black militant' in The Enforcer. In Sudden Impact he's a cop and one of Harry's buddies and he gets killed by best Dirty Harry psycho since Scorpio in the first one. Pat Hingle's character dies again. Remember he bought it in The Gauntlet.

If you seen it you know that Sondra Locke's character was a rape victim out for revenge and he has a special way of signing her work whenever she get one of the ones done it. And if you haven't seen it now you know. You get the usual societal analysis and see things weren't much different then, just an order of magnitude or two worse now.

Tomorrow's the big day. Most of the local mischief is the usual which is to say no killings. KAIT had a big deal that their owners nice standing out in the street in a heavy coat and scarf. Bio sez he in NYC so probably cold. Video about three four minutes shows an already cadaverous Biden being sweared in for the only time and they we see a clip of some kinda medicine manufacturing and then some people getting jabbed - whether it was the first jab or the second or third or fourth - him goin' around being president and pictures of money a lot and him with the Ukrainian guy that got close to a million people killed but laundered a lot of billions for the Biden and his buddies.

Okey-dokey. The written version about the same - I'll try not to cuss:

Four years ago, President Joe Biden took the oath of office pledging to dig the nation out of a time of darkness. His inauguration was clouded by a once in a century pandemic and a predecessor trying to cling to power, the 46th president's entire term a constant test of crisis management.

KAIT8
He plunged the nation into four years of darkness. The Plandemic was completely frauulent and people are still dying from the fake vaccines and will for who knows how long.
The president also signed into law a bipartisan infrastructure bill that would fund thousands of projects around the country while creating jobs. Then came the Inflation Reduction Act, a massive piece of legislation promoting green energy projects, lowering prescription drug prices, and trying to tackle the budget deficit.

KAIT8
A handful of RINOs does not a bipartisan action make. Trillions added to the debt and inflation continued to increase. Every job report - pitiful as the claimed increases were - was revised downward later. SOP for a Democrat regime.
In October 2023, there was more bloodshed in the Middle East when the terror group Hamas killed thousands of Israelis, leading to more than a year of retaliation in the Gaza strip. The administration's negotiations in the conflict a tightrope walk garnering criticism across the political spectrum until ushering in a peace deal during the last week of his term.

KAIT8
The Biden regime - I seriously doubt any of it was his idea - atttempted to prevent Israel from defending itself and to coerce the Israelis into ending the war with the enemy barely damaged. There's more but I'm about to hurl. I do like the final part.
Following his exit from the race, President Biden's final months in office involving a lot of work out of the public eye as the 2024 election carried out. With his vice president's loss to Trump, the man he tried so hard to keep out of the White House enters for a second term on Monday, January 20.

KAIT8
The man he tried to put in prison with show trials in kangaroo courts and finally tried to kill. I wonder if Mr. Zampa ever wondered for even a few seconds about the miraculous survival of the first assassination attempt. That was when I first began to believe that Divine Providence was preparing a victory for the good guys. I seriously doubt that such people believe in Divine Providence. They are products of the schools and universities (Mr. Zampa is a product of Boston University) and there does seem go be a class of people so dissociated from truth that there is no way to reach them. Some people in California may have seen some of the light - how many remains to be seen. Okey-dokey, lemme see what on MyndCryme:

I think, I think I am, therefore I am, I think. End of the month was busy and I'd be up most of the night. Big 2000 LPM printers cranking out a couple of fifty pound boxes greenbar paper. End-of-quarter more so, the president and VP of operations would be there. He'd adjust numbers to make the reports right and I'd have to run the general ledger updates a half dozen times sometimes, make some changes, run'em again. He smoked a pipe and him and the VP would go over to the boardroom and pour some whiskey in them glasses with the bank logo in gold. Whiskey and Coke. Candyasses. Just kiddin', I drink it that way too. Fact is you got a couple of ounces at a time, don't take long to drink it straight. Not that I ever seen that many guys drink it straight anyhow, 'less they trying to show how manly they was. Seen plenty of that. But you get it just right, bout two ounces of Old Charter and three or four of Coke, plenty of big ice cubes and you're good to go.

Jennifer Spencer: I'm Jennifer Spencer. So, how's police business? Harry Callahan: What makes you think I'm a cop? Jennifer Spencer: I saw the commotion the other day; you're either a cop or public enemy number one. Harry Callahan: Some people might say both. Jennifer Spencer: Really, who? Harry Callahan: Oh, bozos with big brass nameplates on their desk and asses the shape of the seat of their chairs. Jennifer Spencer: Why? Harry Callahan: It's a question of methods. Everybody wants results but nobody wants to do what they have to do to get them.
