Couple of new basketball pics in the 'featured stories' section of the Jonestown newspaper. And the baseball pic from a day or two ago.
Couple of local items, one about the local sales tax and one about basketball, the
AT&T debacle
yesterday or day before. I'd already read it elsewhere, coupld of days earlier. Still someone is apparently doing some work, just not much.
Could pick up a paper copy sometime and see what's in it. Buck and a quarter for a couple dozen pages, nah, I can get eight triple-A batteries or four
double-As at Dollar Tree for that. Maybe they make their money on the advertising in the paper version?
The other
NEA news site
had something interesting, something unusual. Seems a feller got shot and kilt the other day, read a bit about it, a rather sad situation as it is when
people get kilt, dunno if the version I read was accurate. I mean, it was
the news.
Still it was unusual, being about an earlier article on the subject. Lot of work apparently went in it, and that was the unusual part.
Guy that runs that site could get some attention of he did more of that. He could investigate
that hospital, there's plenty there. Wonder if it will be covered when the
authorities are investigating it?
The local telly site does seem to have a lot of crime, maybe everywhere is like that. The thing that bothers me is the crimes against children.
I know crime generally is up big time here, and Jonestown and Paragould have been that way for a while but it's out in the small towns so much.
Speaking of small towns,
Cardwell isn't in NEA (being in misery) but it's in
Region 8 and that's the telly station territory. Populaton about 700,
and it's now got a
place to buy weed.
Used to drive up through there a lot, almost got hosed for good one night, morning techically. There's a joint there, bar or club or something, anyway people get
drunk there. Coming back from somewhere, cut through Cardwell to get to Paragold quicker, here comes a car out of that joint, wrong side of the road and apparently
planning on staying there. I got out of his way, don't know what the driver was seeing. This was before texting while driving was a thing, so probably drunk.
Anyhow now the denizens of Cardwell can get stoned another way.
