Screaming for Vengeance
was the eighth Priest album. British Steel was probably what could be called their breakout
work if there was one. Opinions vary, as
James Dalton
would say. I was fortunate enough to see them in London in 1979 - they weren't
world famous then but well known in the UK. Being only casually familiar with Fleetwood Mac I didn't know that The Green Manalishi
was a FM song. Priest laid the metal to that one, and I liked the FM recordings after discovering them. OK, British Steel really
got them noticed and I was back in the U.S.A. by 1982 and got SFV when it was released. There was a record shop (remember those?) in
Santa Maria and I was up there about every weekend that I wasn't in Santa Barbara. It was called Cheap Thrills and was run by some cool guys
who knew their stuff. I bought a copy of Hawkwind's Warrior on the Edge of Time and one of the guys asked me how I knew about Hawkwind.
I thought he was talking about the BOC album I was buying and I said it's on the radio. "Hawkwind?" he asks. "What station around here plays
them?" "Nah," I says, "I've known about them for years." Some stations did play them back in the day, after midnight usually. WOTEOT was their
last one with Lemmy.
Anyway SFV was a bit of a progression in their sound, a little more polish here and there in songwriting and execution and production.
The instrumental track The Hellion segues smoothly into Electric Eye (my favorite even if that track on side two would
become the iconic track and got the most radio airplay) and from there into Riding on the Wind. You got Another Thing Comin'
shows up in bumper rotation on one or two of my favorite vast right wing conspiracy talk shows.
El Rushbo
used it for years and
his successors
still use it. And like Rush they are documented to be right 99.8% of the time.
Electric Eye (this was 1982) describes the omnipresent surveillance we enjoy today. It's said to have been a reference to Orwell's
1984. Glen and KK would switch leads on some tracks and on some harmonized - sometimes it was indicated in the liner notes of the vinyl.
The closest thing to an auhority I have at present (without going into the library and digging out the album) says they harmonize on
The Hellion with Glenn taking the lead on Electric Eye.
Today is Friday the 13th btw. Looks like one of two this year, next one in December. Lessee what's happening in our little corner of
the world.
Aside from the hurricane not much. One of the wetter ones in my memory, about six or seven inches or rain it's still sprinkling a bit.
Whether another New Orleans
exvasion
will occur depends. After Katrina the denizens now know that their EBT cards will work if they go somewhere else but there maybe hasn't been one as bad.
The local goverment made that one worse than it had to be. It looks like most of the corn around here was already harvested, some just in time.
Outside the usual mischief of
perverts
and whatnot our friends at NEA Report have another
machete attack.
Actually this was an act of menacing with a machete with no actual chopping occurring. Not that machete assaults occur that often -
here's one
from a few years ago this one looks like it was earlier this year. A guy
got hisself kilt
in this one a few more years ago. I don't know how frequent machete-related crimes are generally but every few years looks OK but multiples in one
year are a little unnerving. That is having people inclined to whack people with machetes running around loose is a little unsettling.
Ozark Trail is a brand you see on sporting goods in Wal-Mart. Dunno if it's a house brand or not - only place I've ever seen it. Anyhow the article
mentioned that the machete was one. It's pretty good stuff - camping gear and related outdoors stuff. Pretty good quality but then most Wal-Mart
stuff is. Made in China but what isn't these days?

KAIT wants us to know they'll have the mayor debate. I don't live in town have nothing to say about it. I can say something but I
can't vote for or agin. It looks like it's between the mayor who wants to stick around a while and a young feller wanting the job.
I suppose trading the devil you know for the one you know is bad but don't know how bad might be a good idea. I wouldn't be surprised
if they boot Copenhaver - there's been a lot of bad stuff going on in the police department but you never know about people. I know about
people with enough money those things don't concern them.
KAIT got an
unnamed deputy in Cleburne County
(think Heber Springs if you don't live in Arkansas) arrested for attempted perversion. I ever tell you about the time... nevermind.
What, Chris?
Attempted perversion? I got stopped for attempted speeding once. Wanna guess where?
Just kidding. Only really major crime lately looks like a
drug bust in Blytheville.
I'm guessing Blythevlle because while the Osceola police were involved (and the Game and Fish guys) I can't find a Missouri Street in Osceola.
Our Attorney General
talking about
Organized Retail Crime (ORC) in Arkansas. I just made acronym up for fun - you got organized crime and then you got these
grab-and-go
people. Out in California the state government said it's OK if you keep it under a thousand dollars or so on each trip. Then they wonder why stores
are closing. AG Griffin referred to the Little Rock area. They're still in pretty good shape compared to Memphis and I don't have any trepidation
about going down there. Memphis you can get shot just drving through on the interstate. Anyhow there's been a bit of that in Jonestown with
out-of-towners coming in to steal stuff. If Jonestown cops gonna beat people up they might... nevermind.

KAIT updated the
deputy perv story
with a pic. I know a lot of LEO types shave their heads these days - according to some the fact that not giving violent perps something to pull
has something to do with it. But this dude got enough beard so... anyway I don't recall seeing a cop with a beard in a long time. But my knowledge
of Cleburne County is Greer's Ferry and sunburns and didn't get out around the county much. I noticed the
sheriff website
had the news right there on the front page. Get out in front of it, news-wise anyway. Happened over in the next county. Best way was not to hire him
but I'm not in the biz for a lot of reasons and having to hire people and not knowing if they're gonna do something to embarrass you is one. Hard enough
hiring tech people with education and resumes you can check and they can still go south on you. Worse is inheriting them - if your predecessor was a bad
apple some of his employees are probably gonna be. Been there done that and got the cheap T-shirt. At least it wasn't like going to a concert and having
to buy one for your date as well. And depending on how long he been sheriff the guy mighta been there already. Looks like the one they got now was elected
in 2017 so he's been there long enough to have hired him. Some of these sheriffs are decent sorts, some of them ain't.
Only Sunday so mayhem is just trickling in.
This feller
is from Memphis - no word on any vehicles involved. Rumor is the Dodge Charger may be electric-only before long. Apparently they're making some electric
ones but with prices starting near 60K how does the average thug...
What, Chris?
Silly me. Same way they get'em now.

This far into Monday I'll guess there weren't any spectacular crimes. The local guys that have extra-local news have the second assassination attempt
on Donald Trump. Little guy in Brookland has the 'attempted assassination' (in quotes like that) and KAIT has it "apparent assassination attempt" so at
least they got it right. It was pretty apparent they were trying to kill him again.
KAIT had
another wind farm article.
Living in the middle of one being built I know what they're talking about. Look at it this way - twenty years from now (the expected lifespan) there'll be humongous chunks of concrete
here and there and little roads going off the highways into fields where the chunks of concrete are. The blades will be dumped somewhere and what happens to the towers is anyone's guess.
We don't just get the crime from the cities coming in - the illegals are here too and quite a few in Arkansas. One
killed a citizen
the other day - just a health care worker at the children's hospital in Little Rock. Nothing to see here, move along.
ASP said Sort-Herrera was southbound when his 2008 Ford F-150 crossed into the northbound lane and struck a 2016 Honda
CRV driven by 48-year-old Jennifer Ann Morton of Little Rock.
According to ASP, Morton was a respiratory therapist in the Infant Toddler Unit at Arkansas Children's Hospital. (KAIT)
They took the illegal that done the deed to the hospital before taking him on to a detention center so there's a big hospital bill for the taxpayers on top of the incarceration
expense.
He was taken to UAMS for treatment, then later transported to the Pulaski County Detention Center, where he was charged with the following:
- Negligent homicide
- Battery
- Driving under the influence
- Violation of the concealed weapons act
- Reckless driving
- Driving without a license
- Failure to stop after an accident with death
- Other traffic violations
According to ASP, Sorto-Herrera is a native of Honduras who has been illegally residing in Alexander. (KAIT)
As I said, nothing to see here. Anything important I'll get to next time. Later.

Up here in space
I'm looking down on you
My lasers trace
Everything you do
You think you've private lives
Think nothing of the kind
There is no true escape
I'm watching all the time
I'm made of metal
My circuits gleam
I am perpetual
I keep the country clean
I'm elected, electric spy
I'm protected electric eye
Always in focus
You can't feel my stare
I zoom into you
But you don't know I'm there
I take a pride in probing
all your secret moves
My tearless retina takes pictures that can prove
I'm made of metal
My circuits gleam
I am perpetual
I keep the country clean
I'm elected, electric spy
I'm protected electric eye
Electric eye, in the sky
Feel my stare, always there
There's nothing you can do about it
Develop and expose
I feed upon your every thought
And so my power grows
I'm made of metal
My circuits gleam
I am perpetual
I keep the country clean
I'm elected, electric spy
I'm protected electric eye
I'm elected, electric spy
I'm elected
Protected
Detective

I don't know anything about Terrell and Elwood except that they don't have a chance.
Probably either would be better than Copenhaver but they got some dirt - however
minor - on Terrell and neither has any money. I'll flip a coin and vote for one because
I won't vote for either politician.
That's the biz sweetheart.

ever run a business or had a real job?
It was pittie one so wittie malcontent, leaving reason should to treason so be bent.

From his website: LJ supported a Diversity Resolution, encouraging the city to be
receptive to seeking new prospects for leadership appointments. so that's a big no.
Might as well stick with the devil we know.
What difference, at this point, does it make?

Who are these people? How are you smart enough to come in out of the rain and get
caught in one of these? Don't they know they run these stings and if you're asked to
go somewhere and meet someone you don't know there's a pretty good chance it's a
setup?
That's the biz sweetheart.

Beats me. I guess if you're that mentally ill you don't exercise good judgment.
Statistically most of the ones that get caught in these things have no records - it's
their first time. The dangerous predators are smart enough to avoid them.
Those who are inclined to suffer fools gladly should plan to spend a lot of time
suffering.

Somewhat different situation but a lot of these school shooter kids are groomed that
way - the people who want to set them off engage then and encourage them. Those
kids are under the effects of psychotropic drugs and more delusional than a pervert.
When I want your opinion, I'll beat it out of you.
