Jessica and Alex have a complicated relationship for about the first half of the book but it turns out all right.

It was 45 years ago, just a few months before I enlisted in the Air Force. I'd been banging around since high school, finished my Associates Degree in accounting at EACC and was about to start at ASU and doing banking school, it being something that looked like a good career path that theoretically would pay good some day. It doesn't unless you own the bank, which is also the best way to rob a bank. Rock 103 was on from the time I got up and while driving to work and home again and until I went to bed. Had a nice rig with a Sansui 9090 and a pair of Pioneer HPM-100s, Technics turntable and a Pioneer tape deck.

Those were the days before the Wakeup Crew but 103 was the best station in the area if you wanted something not bubblegum or country. I didn't hear about the plane crash until after I got home - there wasn't any confirmation yet of fatalities. That came later, don't remember who the jock was, she sounded like barely holding back tears as she read that bit. Or maybe just trying to.

I wasn't a huge Skynyrd fan but saw them at the Coliseum in Memphis on what I guess was their first big tour and later at the Liberty Bowl on a Memorial Day. I'd have gone anyway because Blue Oyster Cult was one of the bands but sure wanted to see Skynyrd again. Technically I guess they weren't the headliner as ZZ Top was last - or maybe they were co-headliners as the other two bands not being that well known. Anyway a lot of people left after Skynyrd. It had been a long day and was late and a lot of us had to work the next day.

I didn't see them again for years, the last time was probably on the Vicious Cycle tour and that's been near twenty years now. Got the DVD though and a monster system to play it. Ronnie's two brothers give us an idea of what could have been and Johnny took his place in the band. Donnie of course fronted 38 Special for many years. Both eulogized Ronnie in music - Johnny with Brickyard Road (I believe he and Donnie co-wrote that one) from the album of that name and Donnie with Rebel to Rebel on the Bone Against Steel album.

Not much news being reported yet, except football. Gotta do sports, crime can wait until Monday. Got a couple of leftovers from last week though.

The guy arrested in Germantown is said to have been arrested for interstate harassment and stalking of two women in Arizona. Hold your horses, Chris. I wasn't gonna say it. But 'boxes of documents, laptops and other electronics' being toted out by the FBI agents suggests some serious investigating is being done. If he had just mouthed off at a school board meeting or walked past a baby-killing facility they'd have had more agents and more weapons and probably a chopper or two. Dunno if Germantown has any bodies of water big enough for divers.

All three of my phones Amber-alerted me yesterday. Now with the names I would guess that a male person 14 years of age somehow went from North Carolina to western Arkansas and picked up a 14-year-old female person and took her to Oklahoma. In a car with no license plate. Hang on...

Kid appropriates a car in North Carolina and drives most of the way across Arkansas and a pretty good piece of Oklahoma before they catch him. I've confirmed it was a him - more on that in a minute. He drives out of North Carolina through Georgia (right through Atlanta) and then Alabama (Birmingham) and Mississippi and Arkansas (Little Rock) and through Fort Smith into Oklahoma. If he just made it to Oklahoma City they might have caught him. Or if the girl he met on the Interwebs and abducted had been... nevermind, lot of the kids driving stolen cars around Memphis and Chicago and Detroit shootin' each other with automagicized Glocks are fourteen and sometimes younger.

What, Chris?

Dunno what a license plate reader does if there ain't no license plate. It sure doesn't read it. This no longer being news as someone said it will disappear. I'll keep track of it and see if any more info is forthcoming - both being juveniles it probably won't be.

In Wynne the trial of the prom night shooters is still a while off. I'm guessing that was this year so we're not into years-long yet. Probably it will be a year by trial time. They had the homecoming games around here and no mass shootings so that's over. Some more child porn here and there, child assault or so. Elections going and they had some disagreement over in Left Memphis on account of how they generally have early voting at the courthouse and the courthouse is over in Marion. Supreme court said they got to have some at a couple of churches. Easier to cheat but that's what it's all about. In the important - presidential and congressional and state offices - it won't matter. The Republicans got that locked down. Local stuff is what it is - Memphis is a big mess but the rest of the state is good. The Democrats in Memphis can fight out the local stuff among themselves.

Arkansas AG reminds us if you see something say something to the hotline they got. They even published the number.

Don't hardly mention the Jonestown paper any more, nothing much to see. Editorial stuff about the same - this one from an Arkansas pundit. Whether the guy actually believes that stuff or not it's dumb. First, presidents don't affect the debt. Theoretically one could prevent or reduce the amount of growth by vetoing bad budgets until a semi-reasonable one is presented but Reagan was the last one to seriously try. OK Stevie, here goes: Reagan got tax cuts passed and tax revenue increased because of the improvement in the economy but was unable to stop Congress from spending all the new money and a lot more besides. Trump might actually do it if he had Republicans holding both houses but that's the only way - that actually would reduce the growth of debt. Giggles will sign anything that passes Congress and if the dims hold even one house it will have massive spending increases. So, Stevie, Trump with a Republican Congress might slow the rate of growth but Giggles with a dim Congress will probably add 3-5 trillion per year. I don't see that going on for four years without some bad stuff happening.

Little car theft by some rather inept types. Call'em Keystone Crooks. Only one they ID'd was from Forrest City. Forrest City is actually a little further from Jonestown than Memphis is but it's a straight shot on I-40 so there's a lot of movement there. Going from FC to Jonestown is about sixty miles on two-lane Highway 1. It's got those passing lanes where people come up behind you - I drive the speed limit - and take their time going around you until the extra lane is about to run out and there they are right beside me poking along about 1.4 MPH faster than I am so I gotta touch the brake a bit and let'em go by. Sometimes one of them will hold up a bunch of cars that way.

Anyhow these dudes had a key fob programmer and either stole the one they wrecked or was trying to steal another one, couldn't figure it out. Maybe they didn't know what they was doing. Remind me not to buy a new car - I don't want one that can be stolen by a retard. Besides they're all ugly.

Talk about dissociation from reality. Anyone who writes this garbage has got to be mentally impaired or paid to do it and has no self-respect. No, cupcake, you don't gotta feel sorry for us. If we win we'll be nice to you as long as you behave. If we don't just remember that the cheerleaders for would-be tyrants are among the first against the wall once they're in charge. Some would say it couldn't happen to a nicer bunch but that's their opinion.

The political prisoners from Arkansas usually get mentioned in the local news occasionally. Nice this guy is out and hope he keeps a low profile until the time is right. Somebody threatened one of the Jonestown mayoral candidates - not one of the important ones. Not gonna ask what he was doing out there at that time of day.

Dunno if the local news will get around to this. Dog fighting is about the worst, as the people that do it go. It's hard to imagine a worse type of human being. Dangerous too, as you might expect. One of my girlfriends back in the day hung with a guy that hung with some rough types, one day he took her to a dog fight. Right here in northeast Arkansas. She was a bit wild and it scared her. A lot of them were packing and so was the guy she was with. That made her a little more careful in who she associated with but she still came to a tragic end - just not from being around criminals. Sweet kid really, just careless sometimes.

The dog fight she told me about wasn't at Proctor - it was in Poinsett County. Rough bunch up there too, dunno if what goes around Proctor is worse or not. Only there two or three times, when people I was with went there. Didn't feel to good the whole time even if... nevermind. Anyhow if you read Clayton Lindemuth's excellent novel My Brother's Destroyer is a look into that dark world - it's not for the squeamish.

I'll keep an eye out and see if any of the NEA news sites pick it up. Get stuff from Misery a lot on KAIT, it being in their market. Just not in Arkansas. Gotta go to Jonestown tomorrow instead of Thursday. About the same, get up there early and get home early. May drive back home on 49 and see what the country looks like out there. Catch ya later.

Lessee, told you I was going to Jonestown today, got that done and back before dark. I see the only local news that picked up the dog story was KAIT. I saw it on some other TV sites and it's pretty much copy and paste - didn't see any attribution on the ones I looked at so dunno who got it first. Don't look for much more, I guess with the other stuff, too much of it involves children and there's enough people misbehaving to fill the pages. Whether it's helpless children or helpless animals there some awful bad people around and we only know about the ones that get caught. I'm with Clayton on people doing dog fighting are about the lowest of the low. I said that My Brother's Destroyer isn't for the sqeamish but recommend it if you can handle it. His characters are sometimes the reluctant antihero type and they don't show mercy on wicked people:

I'm tired of yammering but I got to take a shot at making them understand. "All around us is dead men. Look at the lantern glow up in the trees — makes this whole place a cathedral. You got the circle there like an altar. These men come to the last service at the church of death, and they was struck down by the oldest law. An eye for an eye."

Dunno if the Wynne schools super is saying they've lost 1065 students since 2020 (the year Wickedpedia says the Plandemic began) or some other year. I'm guessing 2020 but if so 1,065 is a bunch gone in three years from a school that size. That would make it about half the size it was four years ago. The population hasn't declined enough to account for it unless it took a dive about that time - last I have is 2020.

I'm aware of the losses to Cross County #7 but he sez they had more school choice or legally transfer in. Dunno what 'legal transfer' means. If you're choosing a school in Cross County Wynne wouldn't be your first choice if you knew about both schools. Are they coming from Forrest City? Cross County #7 is further away from there than Wynne is. He mentioned private and home school and that is increasing.

OK, outside of a body found somewhere along I-40 over around Left Memphis and they ain't gonna explode the old bank not much to talk about.

The Cross County hospital lost a bunch of money again last (fiscal) year but they said it made some near the end. If it keeps that up maybe they won't ask for more tax money when the current sales tax expires.

What, Chris?

Of course I don't expect it. Of course the government might decide to drop a few thousand illegals in there, since Arkansas is mostly Republicans. Then they be losing money big time. Seems to be ambulance problem . I noticed a while back where there was an ambulance business there isn't now - whether they relocated of just left I didn't know.

"You didn't drink your coffee black before Alex came," Gordon said.

"Yeah," Jessica replied. "It took a bit of getting used to but I like it. Alex says black coffee is honest - hot and bitter, nothing added to soften it."

"Like Alex," said Gordon.

"Can you blame him?" Jessica asked.

"Can't say I do," Gordon replied.
