Journey to the Center of the Earth - this one anyway - is a musical interpretation of the Jules Verne novel. A 1974 project by
Rick Wakeman recorded live with the London Symphony Orchestra and English Chamber Choir. I got the vinyl back when it was released and
as usual recorded the seven-dollar record onto an five-dollar cassette. This was the seventies and a moderately high-dollar Technics
turntable was about $300 and a $50-60 cartridge and the Pioneer cassette deck $500 or so. Top of the line Maxell tape and most records
would fit on one side of a 90-minute tape so I recorded them on both sides. We had auto-reverse cassette players, especially in cars,
but I normally put the same thing on both sides so I could just let it loop like and 8-track would do.
JTTCOTE follows The Six Wives of Henry VIII and is followed by a The Myths and Legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table.
Yep, that's the title. Rick has a pretty good sense of humor - I got a vid here somewhere I watch once in a while with him and is son Adam
(who played keys with Ozzy) and Brian May. Rick remarked that Henry had about as many wives as he did but had a better way of getting rid of them.
The
criminal part
of the police death affair in Memphis is apparently wrapped up. I would expect the
civil suit
to be settled out of court.
A half billion ain't gonna happen and rather than push it - assuming they can even get what they want at trial - through the courts for years
the next of kin will probably take any decent offer. Like most other big lottery winners take half or so up front rather than spread it out
over twenty or so years.
What, Chris?
Not gonna dignify that with a response. There's some angst in the community beause of the acquittals and the fact that an all-white jury did it.
You go to Chattanooga to get jurors they're gonna be mostly white. The guys are already going away for a while on the federal rap but maybe a
local jury would have given them more. It was a awful thing but the people of Memphis need to take a look at themselves. That's where the problem
is and the situation is bad enough that the state is talking about doing what none of them want to do but the alternative is not good for people in
Memphis and most of them can't leave.
I rarely put anything from the Imboden folks up so
this here one
is kinda interesting. Bowfin is commonly called grinnel by some around here. They shaped something like snakeheads and since snakeheads
got into the water here in the USA (they originated in Asia) somehow - some says they were imported for use in Chinese food. Dunno if I
ever et any since you don't know what's in the food meatwise anyway. Anyhow people hear about snakeheads and if they don't know their fish
good might mistake a grinnel for a snakehead. They prehistoric, like gar and paddlefish so Arkansas got three dinosaur fishes. Seems we
got some sturgeon too.
Believe I mentioned the people from Memphis stealing glasses in Paragould. Or the frames or whatever. Seems this half of the pair
scored some in Jonestown
as well. Dunno how that'll work - maybe the Paragould and Jonestown are in the same prosecutor district? That could simplify
prosecution some. Or not.
I don't seriously believe any kids in school
not getting food
much money as gets spent on it. Even giv'em breakfast and probably after-school
some places, and feed them in the summer when they ain't in school. That's one of them lefty bellyaching sites but the Jonestown paper puts their articles up regular like.

Seems mistreating dogs and cats isn't bad enough for
some folks. Not all dogs are cute
and cuddly while most cats are but hedgehogs are all cute. Apparently they're a nuisance in some places and illegal to keep as pets in some states.
Dunno if it's illegal to use them as
croquet balls.
Methinks this is a
good idea.
Me also thinks it shouldn't have been necessary to make a new law since it should have aready been the law. Still have truckers from everywhereverelse driving through Arkansas and that's
likely where most of the problems come from.
Since the
Plandemic
is over and has been for a long time what are they upset about?
Because money and they don't care where it comes from or how they can get some.
An FBI agent who infiltrated a mob organization talked about how they get up every day and try to figure out a way to get money without workikng for it. Kinda like governments.
Dr. Taylor says while COVID-19 isn't the same problem it was in 2020, the Health Department was using the COVID grants for other good in Shelby County.
"We had been able to flex that funding to do more than just COVID -- to tackle Mpox, to tackle other infectious diseases, to do vital community outreach work that
we need in this community to reach hard to reach populations," Taylor said.
WREG.com
The attempt to make something out of monkeypox fizzled out a long time ago. Who ever thought trying to make the next plandemic with a disease that only affects people who
engage in nasty behavior? I know, the idea was to get people thinking it could spread through the air like covid. Don't expect them to stop trying but the ones did it last
time ain't in charge now.

Joe Gall has some down and dirty stuff in his adventures but in Matt Helm's debut he gets seriously ugly. Not that the
recipient doesn't deserve it but slicing and dicing a woman to extract the information he needs doesn't go over well with
the wife. Matt was a WWII spy and had returned to civilian life after the war but is involuntarily reactivated.
The movie folks tried to to Matt Helm but it isn't a by-the-book movie would be hard to clean up enough for television
and for sure in the 1960s you couldn't stay with the books. So the got Dean Martin and some hot babes of the day and made
it a comedy. Wickedpedia says spy-comedy. I like Dean Martin and most of his stuff but didn't care for the films. As
with Frank Sinatra their singing wasn't my cup of tea but I liked them in movies.
Goodreads has the list with pics so you can
see how cover style changed over the quite a few years (1960 to somewhere in the 1990s). As with most I like the newer ones
but some of the art on the older ones was pretty good.
What's that? Favorite movies? Probably Von Ryan's Express for Sinatra and Bandolero for Martin. He was in
Rio Bravo with The Duke but Bandolero he was lead. Or co-lead with Jimmy Stewart.

Not close to Imboden but
on the website.
Des Arc is down south a good ways on the White River. I believe that's where some sturgeon are, kinda little ones. Population about 1,800 according
to Wickedpedia. Person found shot in a house there and succumbed to the injury and that's all they got so far.
I didn't realize that citizenship or non-citizenship was a race. Here in the USA we got citizens of all kinds or races and colors and stuff.
They say
right there it's about where the person is a citizen of and I suppose that China and North Korea are less racially diverse but it's more about keeping bad people from buying property to use
for terrorism or espioage or such. Some people got to make everything about race. That was from that French outfit they use.
I must have missed
this
when it happened. Or maybe I didn't since
this article
rang a bell or two. Seems a cop just up and murdered a guy and dumped the body in a river. I guess that's the abuse of a corpse part.
I suppose if it's privatized either it continues to be subsidized by taxpayers or it goes out of business. Actually if we're gonna have taxpayers pay for it
private managment would cost less. And is it only black millenials? Not Asian or Hispanic or Native American or whatever? Reminds me of a joke El Rushbo
used to tell
about this. The number of people who actually mixed up on
the sex thing is about a hundredth of one percent and while those who had had their minds broken by - mostly - government school teachers and sometimes by
evil parents the sooner this goes away the better. Sadly it is too late for many of those permanently scarred mentally and in many cases physically damaged.

It's a while until June anyeenth and the first eenth in May was yesterday. Googled the
radio station
and saw why. Usually
these things
are occasions for a lot of violent behavior and why that happens I have no idea but it does. I asked the Google AI thingy about it...
What, Chris?
Grok is the best but when you google something a lot of times it gives you an AI overview in the search results using Google's version of AI. It's decent
but will clam up on some subjects. I asked it what the optimal load for a 20-gauge defense load and it vapor-locked.
What?
Some women like a twenty for defense. A little lighter and belive me no malefactor wants a load of twenty-anything in the buckshot range. A .410 slug can go through
two peoples but while I wouldn't recommend that I know some as use it. Anyhow Miranda is five-six but on the skinny side - not that I'm complaining - and is comfortable
with it. Sure fifteen rounds of .40 in a backup piece it makes more sense. If you believe the history Bonnie Parker used a twenty but she was real small so there you are.
Anyhow back to juneteenth....
OK, I axt the google about
juneteenth violence
and here's what it said. That's a big screenshot image. One of the things about trying to manipulate AI (and that's what most
of them do - remember the google thang clams up when you ask about guns) is that manipulation is easily detected by those who know what the hell they're doing and are
paying attention . The intellectually unwashed are easy prey. As they are in political matters. Don't get me started. Here it is and maybe I'll have something to say
afterwards. Or not.
I do. They got 'gun violence' in there six times. It isn't gun violence - it's people violence and when peple behave violently they use the best tool for the job. And
whether it's Memphis or Chicago or Little Rock or wherever there always plenty of guns in circulation. Same as in other cities where there's lots of guns but not lots of
people that kill each other at the drop of a hat. Those knitted caps they wear with hoodies.
Fetterman was kinda like Biden with them covering for him after he got brain-damaged. Anything to get him elected. Problem was Biden's brain had rotted away and
Fetterman's was improving. It improved so much he don't toe the line - and knows Pennsylvania is a close one - so they ready to heave him over the side. What people
that ain't been paying their student loans hoping they would go away are getting a nasty surprise. Elections have consequences as somebody said. Actually he was just
reading what they wrote for him but this last election is having some serious consequences.
Whiskey of the day is
Evan Williams 1783 Small Batch. Nice bottle too
although I prefer the ones with a handle on the half-gallons. 1.75 milly leeters actually but a whole half gallon is only a bit south nineteen hundred so it's close.
I don't buy 750s or what some still call fifths since it don't take long to empty one. Some gals I know like to use the empty halves - especially the ones with handles -
for craft projects.

If I didn't know better I would suspect some Biden regime leftovers in FEMA were responsible. Didn't they figure that Governor Sanders,
who knows President Trump well, could just make a phone call and
get it fixed?
Probably did but just wanted to throw a little more sand in the gears while they still could.
Parkin just barely decided not to impose a two percent sales tax on themselves and
Cherry Valley
even more barely decided to tax themselves one percent. Quite a bit more commerce in Cherry Valley what with a Dollar General and a big old Jordans Kwik Stop.
Haven't been downtown in a while so dunno how much commerce there is there. Might find time so day or may not.
The new pope was big news and being the first American one probably made it bigger. Looks like he the fourteenth Leo. Being fairly young he might last a while
and the fact that one the Leos is among the
shortest reigning popes probably shouldn't bother him.
Several others didn't do much more than a year if that. Anyway he wants peace in
Ukraine and Gaza.
Prospects are good with President Trump on the case. Naturally Putin will get as much as he can but the Ukrainian guy as President Trump said doesn't have any cards
left. Middle east looking pretty good to.
The news feed that KJNB uses doesn't like
President Trump
much. The French guys - why they use anything French is a mystery to intelligent folks but maybe they don't figure their audience is all that intelligent. Is so they probably right.
That's about the fat woman in New York that wasted all that time and money trying to convict him in the kangaroo court they had there only to see him reelected. Uh-oh, somebody found
where she actually committed the crime she accused him of and they got her dead bang. Looks like they may try one of the cases in Virginia and fat latisha may be in some trouble.
Alexander (Alex) Bradley Duncan Dossier N-144, Access Level 5
Overview
Nominally a mercenary but with principles. He works for both the Northern Alliance and the Republic. Money is a secondary factor as he is already quite wealthy, nevertheless he is paid large sums for his work and takes the opportunity to acquire wealth along the way if it has been liberated from bad people. Having lost a close friend to the servants of the regime he cheerfully kills any enemy agent of any rank at the slightest provocation. [1]
Age fifty-eight, looks ten years younger. Height five feet nine, weight 170, green eyes, light brown hair. Stout build but with speed and agility. With extensive martial arts training combined with military special forces training he is deadly even unarmed and is proficient with many weapons. Always carries one or more knives, is expert with handguns and long guns. Partial to 10mm pistols, 12-gauge shotguns and 7.62 rifles but is proficient with many types. Always has one or more small, easily concealable backup pieces.
Veteran of U.S. Air Force working as a linguist in intelligence. Speaks several languages (and numerous computer languages) and has considerable knowledge of computer systems and networking with an emphasis on security. IQ tested at military enlistment 242, when a Rochberg test was administered for verification he tested 246.
Hand-to-hand combat techniques are a combination of mixed martial arts and street fighting. Has trained with military special forces instructors. Since he can only be found unarmed if he has been made prisoner he rarely needs to engage unarmed for any longer than it takes to acquire a weapon. With a blade of any useful size he is at maximum lethality. [2]
He has never been married (a common but unverified rumor is that he was engaged to be married and his fiancée died in an accident or assassination [3]) and has relationships with a number of women, some more intense than others. The main one - Jessica Marshall - is an agent of the Sapphire group and is involved in operating a network of safe houses. She met Cassandra soon after her rescue from Zulu-6 and has a close relationship with her. [4]

Cassandra Dossier N-194, Access Level 5
Overview
Middle and last names unknown. Age fourteen when rescued by Alex from the Zulu-6 detention facility. Does not speak, has no signs of physical injuries that would make speech impossible, it is believed mental trauma is the cause. Imprisoned, chained to a wall, repeatedly raped, beaten, and starved she was nearly insane when rescued. Can hear and communicate by writing. A broken (and apparently untreated) index finger on the right hand makes writing difficult and is a useful identifying feature. Refusing to be separated from Alex she accompanies him on all his missions. Has become proficient with firearms and knives and readily uses improvised weapons when necessary. Described as being able to kill without batting an eye and has done so on numerous occasions. Fiercely loyal to and protective of Alex.
Five feet five inches, about 110 pounds. Slim, long black hair, grey eyes. May have some Hispanic ancestry. Favors small-framed .40 caliber pistols and 20-gauge shotguns with #3 buckshot. While capable of accurately shooting a 12-gauge from the hip due to the weight and recoil she prefers the lighter guns. Proficient at throwing knives, has had knife fighting training with noted League weapons masters. [1] A medium-length short sword (e.g. wakizashi) has been employed on at least two occasions (Operation Silver Rain and Operation Golden Paladin).
Jessica Marshall (a close friend of Alex) has assumed the role of a second guardian. On at least one occasion Cassandra agreed to be separated briefly providing Jessica was with her. See Operation Red Salamander.
Apparel varies but generally is khaki/tan shirts with military-type trousers in shades of brown or olive. Sometimes wears a dark (usually black) turtleneck if wearing a jacket. The jacket is usually an MA-1 design, a type preferred by Alex. Depending on the situation sneakers or light-weight hiking shoes are worn.

Sarah Jessica Fletcher Dossier C-193, Access level 5
Overview
Younger sister of Myles Fletcher. Age 29, five eight, 124 pounds. Grey eyes, long tawny hair. Is in an intimate relationship with her older brother since they were teenagers. Has a small group of occasional male partners (about a half dozen) and several female lovers. Decidedly heterosexual but makes allowances for a handful of special friends. Myles is also firmly heterosexual (and there is no evidence of his behaving otherwise) but is aware of his sister's occasional same-sex dalliances and does not appear to disapprove. Despite an intense relationship with his sister he has serious long-term relationships with several other women.
Uninterested in and mostly unaware of matters in the larger world she spends most of her time socializing with friends around Jonesboro. Appears to be well above average intelligence (Myles is 195) and displays signs such as an eclectic interest in music and literature.
Sarah and Myles are heirs to a large fortune estimated at upwards of 20 million [1]. Myles is involved with the Gold Dragon organization primarily as a liaison with other Resistance factions. He attempts to shield his sister from the realities of the situation. Sarah spends most of her time in Jonesboro when she is not at his place. Myles has several agents watching her at all times to thwart any efforts to harm her.
Familiarity with weapons is from use in hunting and recreational target shooting and later practice in defensive use of firearms with Myles.

Juneteenth celebrations have unfortunately been marred by violence, including shootings, across the United States. For example, in 2023, shootings during Juneteenth weekend left at least 12 people dead and nearly 100 injured. In 2024, multiple incidents, including a fatal shooting at a Juneteenth celebration in Round Rock, Texas, and a shooting at a Juneteenth celebration in Oakland, California, highlighted the ongoing issue.
Here's a more detailed look at the incidents:
Round Rock, Texas (2024):
A dispute between two groups escalated into a shooting, resulting in two fatalities and 14 injuries at a Juneteenth festival.
Oakland, California (2024):
Multiple people were shot during a Juneteenth celebration, with at least 15 injured.
Chicago, Illinois (2024):
A pair of mass shootings on Juneteenth weekend injured 11 people, including teenagers.
Other Locations:
Several other cities experienced shootings, including a shooting at a splash pad playground in Michigan that injured nine people, reports Everytown.
Previous Instances:
In 2021, a shooting at a Juneteenth celebration at Lake Merritt in Oakland left several injured and one person dead.
These incidents underscore the need for comprehensive action on gun violence and raise concerns about the safety of Juneteenth celebrations, which are meant to be a time of celebration and commemoration of the emancipation of enslaved people.
