The regime may or may have not known or suspected it was about to go down so hard. There are rumors and some reason to believe them that they knew how underwater they were and concealed it as best they could. Polling was less reliable than ever and how many reports were outright lies is unknown - the best ones like Rasmussen and AtlasIntel got it pretty close. As far as I could tell the Trump campaign didn't seem certain of victory - the Harris camp was generally incoherent and lying at the same time. All I know is that were on edge until after midnight here and expected to wake up the next morning and find that there were two or three races so close that the Demoncrats would begin the recount-until-you-win routine and it would be December before there was a conclusion - and what that conclusion would be.

As the Navigator observed Paul (they didn't know who he was) didn't know how things would go even after victory was in his hands and the challenge from Feyd-Rautha (and Fenring whom he didn't see at all) were variables. President Trump seems to be prepared for war but only if he can control Congress can he make significant progress. He can do much with executive orders since that is how much of the damage by the outgoing regime was done but courts will constantly overrule him and he must be willing to emulate Andrew Jackson and act as if the court does not exist. That they will stop after he makes a couple of them look like fools is too much to expect but he should do it. Not necessarily approving of Jackson but respect his uh.... OK, moving along.

While he is appearing conciliatory he must allow justice to take its course. The manufactured 'crimes' used against him are irrelevant now as none of the cases will go anywhere but the Justice Department must pursue the conspirators and punish them. All Trump has to do is not say anything as the cases go forward and allow the Attorney General and U.S. Attorneys to to their job - investigate crimes and prosecute the criminals. The regime mouthpieces will accuse him but those are nearly toothless and some may be out of business befor long or worse acquired by owners who will use them for actual news. The Washington Post is one to watch, along with the LA Times. Their owners went out on a limb by not endorsing regime candidate and the owners may be tired of losing money on a lost cause.

Trump's political skils have improved but appears to truly hate having to be even diplomatic but if he can appear detached from the retribution process his enemies will have no ammunition. Under the surface the tide is turning and has been for a while.
