I was pretty unhappy last time and devoted the entire post to the subject at hand and so didn't mention the passing of
Randy Cunningham.
He was quite a bit older than me but growing up during the Vietnam War and beginning my military service shortly afterwards
and having an interest in military aviation I was familiar with him and other notable people in that area. As a senior
NCO unmarried and not eligible for base housing I usually lived in the bachelor NCO barracks - at my duty station in much
of the 1980s it was a suite - actually two rooms each of which would be occupied by two men of lesser rank and the bathroom
shared by the four. We old guys - there weren't very many of us who were unmarried - got the 'luxury' version.
I built military airplane models in the larger scales and had one of Duke's F-4. I had also built a B-52 - I believe it was
a D model that had the underwing bomb racks - and it was quite large and my unit commander and others being aware of my hobby sometimes
had visiting brass come up and see my models. Anyway I was pretty impressed by Duke's exploits for all the he was a Navy guy
and the Air Force had our
Robin Olds
so that was all good.
Anyone familiar with Duke's history know what happened. He eventually went into politics and for whatever reasons allowed himself
to be tempted to cross over to the dark side. For whatever reasons he would be one of very few politicians at that level to
actually pay a price beyond losing his office. Being a Republican didn't help - Democrats protect their own while Republicans
heave their own bad boys over the side with little or no ceremony. His colleague John McCain was better connected and was the
only Republican in the
Keating Five
and skated away with the others. And character-wise Duke comes out way on top. RIP Duke
Last week when I was pontificating about the atrocities perpetrated against innocent citizens who had the misfortune to be in
the path of a killer I couldn't have seen what was coming. A few days earlier Jesse Kelly had said that there would be more
assassination attempts against reformers and some would be successful. I was thinking about politicians and was unprepared for
what did happen.
When recalling where one was when some event happened it's usually easy enough for me. On 11 September 2001 I was in my office
when I heard the increased noise level from a conference room across the hall and went to see what it was about. I was in time
to see the second second hit. When the Challenger blew up I was watching it live having been home with the flu and happened to
have the television on. When JFK was killed I was in my second grade classroom but have no idea where I was then his brother was
killed. I was watching the younger of my two older sisters win the county spelling bee when MLK was killed - on the way home
Dad stopped at a small store and gas station (today it would be a convenience store) and after going in to pay for the gas and
buy some snacks for the kids and told us - it was on the radio in the store.
When Charlie was shot I was in my home office streaming the Clay and Buck show and it ended before the news that he had died arrived.
That would come later during Hannity. I was as shocked as anyone probably shouldn't have been. Make no mistake, there will almost
certainly be further attempts on President Trump and likely VP Vance but the assassination of Charlie Kirk was an escalation of
political violence - attacks on politicians are expected but going after "civilians" tells me that the enemy will stop at nothing
and most people I know agree:
A cornered animal is dangerous, a wounded one more so if its wounds are not crippling. Our enemy is badly wounded and is only
crippled politically - it retains the funding by various entities, the agitators who are angrier than ever with the loss of
political power, and the deluded masses are still there although there may have been some attrition in that area. With the
continued success of the administration - the economy hasn't tanked, approval for illegal alien removal is high, and President
Trump has higher approval ratings than one would expect. The enemy is desperate indeed.

The Kennedy and King assassinations are notable for being high-profile assassinations. There are indications that had JFK lived
things would have been different but it was too soon to tell. What would have RFK is anyone's guess and the assassination of MLK
certainly accelerated the progress of civil rights but sadly Democrat policies negated much of the good that could have come from
it. Charlie was different - he had captured the young people. The ones the enemy had worked so hard and long to corrupt were
turning away. Charlie was dangerous. More dangerous than most politicians.
The effect of the death of Charlie Kirk remains to be seen but the signs are interesting. I admit to being surprised at how well-known
he was internationally but I haven't followed his organization that closely. His widow stated that
"you have no idea what you have unleashed"
and is likely right. Or as Obi-Wan Kenobi said to Darth Vader.... Charlie may have indeed become much bigger in death than in life.
One positive sign was that the ghoulish behavior of the enemy was surprised by the reaction - what they have gotten away with for years
suddenly had
negative consequences.
It must have hurt the folks at Wickedpedia to write that. It seems that something has changed - is just that more and more people are awake and
disgusted by the behavior of the enemy? Or more people in business - the big dogs that run the megacorporations that own the "news" outlets -
are deciding to stop losing money on something that has already become less effective? And with so much
big money accepting the new boss and kissing up
why not join the party?
Sad and angry as I may be I am also optimistic. Turning Point isn't just the name of Charlie's organization - the phrase is repeated over and over
in news and punditry to describe where the U.S.A. and perhaps the world are. I believe it will be a right turn.
The enemy of enemy need not be my friend as long as he is able and willing to harm my enemy.
First they came for the illegals
And I didn't speak out because they don't belong here
Then they came for the criminals
And I didn't speak out because I respect the law
Then they came for the traitors
And I didn't speak out because I love my country
Not they don't come for anyone
Because America is great again.
